Vitamins B6, B12, and folic acid: dementia preventives?
Researchers at the Queen’s University of Belfast have shown a strong association between certain kinds of dementia (including
that due to Alzheimer’s and stroke) and blood levels of the biosubstance homocysteine. They suggest that regular use of supplements
that lower homocysteine levels (such as vitamins B6 and B12, and folic acid) might therefore lower the risk of these dementias.
