Two supplements protect hearing from noise-damage
According to a PRNewswire article, pre-clinical data presented at a meeting of the Association for Research in Otolaryngology
in February shows that the use of acetyl-L-carnitine (ALC) reduced permanent hearing loss due to exposure to continuous loud
noise. The ALC could be administered either before or after exposure to the noise.
Another supplement, N-acetyl-cysteine, was shown to be remarkably effective in protecting hearing from both discontinuous
and continuous loud noises.
