Rejuvenation enthusiasts vs. the death-mongers
During the past few years attitudes toward aging have begun a dramatic shift. Instead of being a ‘natural part of life’, aging
is now being thought of as a potentially treatable illness. This viewpoint, based solidly on recent scientific discoveries,
has engendered a renewed confidence in the future and hope for a better life among those who have adopted it. Predictably,
it has also given people with chronically negative attitudes a new target to shoot at.
An article by Bill Radford of the Colorado Springs Gazette covers these contrasting views nicely, although it gives far more
coverage to the death-mongers who oppose rejuvenation than their numbers or their rationality actually warrant.

Anti-aging industry draws debate
An article by James Burnett in Boston Magazine describes the efforts at Elixir Pharmaceuticals to develop a sophisticated
anti-aging drug. Burnett gives a nice historical overview of the company and the man who founded it. Fortunately he devotes
only a few sentences to certain lackwits who call themselves ‘bioethicists’ and who oppose rejuvenation.
