Cholesterol drugs deplete Coenzyme Q10
People who are using so-called ‘statin’ drugs (such as Lipitor, Crestor, Advicor, Pravachol, and Zocor) to lower cholesterol
levels should also be taking Coenzyme Q10 supplements, because the statin drugs interfere with the body’s production of Q10.
The resulting deficiency of Q10 occurs in muscle tissue. Without adequate amounts of Q10 present, muscles run short on energy,
which could have dramatic consequences if the muscle in question is the heart.
